Alain Picard holds a B.A. (Cum Laude) in Illustration from Western
Connecticut State College and has studied at the Art’s Student League
in New York City. Though relatively young, he has developed a loyal
following for both his landscape paintings and his exquisite
portraiture. He has already been a featured artist in two national
publications, The Artist’s Magazine in 2003 and 2004 and The Pastel Journal in 2003.
Picard
cites Sargent and Degas among his artistic influences. A love for
light and the beauty of nature are immediately apparent in his pastel
and oil paintings. He has garnered top awards throughout the Northeast
in esteemed exhibitions including the Pastel Society of America, the
Hudson Valley Art Association, the Kent Art Association and the
Connecticut Pastel Society. Picard also holds Signature member status
with the Connecticut Pastel Society, an honor bestowed only to multiple
award winning pastel artists.
Alain Picard makes his home in Bethel Connecticut.
